The Fallout: Official Trailer

“The Fallout,” the new movie from Maddie Ziegler and Jenna Ortega, has been acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will premiere on HBO Max in all available markets on January 27.

The movie follows high schooler Vada (Ortega) as she navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Relationships with her family and friends, as well as her view of the world, are forever altered.

Also starring in the film are Niles Fitch, Shailene Woodley, Will Ropp, Lumi Pollack, John Ortiz and Julie Bowen.

The Fallout – Teaser Trailer

The Fallout is a film about the unseen faces of a tragedy, those who can’t turn their pain into effecting positive change in the world because they are too afraid to leave their bedrooms. Three teenagers form a unique and dynamic bond as they navigate the never linear, often confusing journey to heal in a world that feels forever changed.

In the film Ortega, Maddie Ziegler and Niles Fitch forge a close friendship that helps them cope with tragedy. From romantic moments to wine-downs in a hot tub, the teenagers find comfort and strength to face the world in each other.

The Fallout, which is in the 28th edition of the SXSW Film Festival Narrative Competition, also features Shailene Woodley, Julie Bowen, Will Ropp, Lumi Pollack and John Ortiz. Billie Eilish collaborator Finneas composed the music.

Producers are David Brown, Rebecca Miller, Cara Shine, Shaun Sanghani, Joannie Burstein, Todd Lundbohm and Giulia Prenna.

Universal Taking All International Rights To “The Fallout”

Universal Pictures Content Group is close to acquiring all international distribution rights to U.S. high school drama The Fallout, starring Jenna Ortega (You), Maddie Ziegler (West Side Story), Niles Fitch (This is Us), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Julie Bowen (Modern Family), John Ortiz (Kong: Skull Island) and Will Ropp (The Way Back).

Actress Megan Park (What If) has written and is directing the feature – which is currently in post-production – about high schooler Vada (Ortega) who navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy.

David Brown is producing for U.S. outfit Clear Horizon alongside Shaun Sanghani of SSS Entertainment and Rebecca Miller and Cara Shine of Good Pals. Todd Lundbohm, Joannie Burstein and Giulia Prenna also produce. Pic was financed by Clear Media Finance, SSS Film Capital and 828 Media Capital.

LA-based sales and production firm Clear Horizon handles world sales and is inking the deal with Universal.

Maddie Joins Jenna Ortega in Teen Drama ‘The Fallout’

Hollywood Reporter — Maddie Ziegler will join You star Jenna Ortega in teen drama The Fallout.

Actress turned filmmaker Megan Park will write and direct the feature that centers on high schooler Vada (Ortega). She must navigate the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy, after which relationships with her family, friends and view on the world are forever altered.

David Brown and Giulia Prenna will produce for Clear Horizon, along with Cara Shine Ballarini. Joannie Burstein and Rebecca Miller will produce for The Burstein Co., with Todd Lundbohm producing for 828 Media Capital.

Clear Horizon is selling worldwide rights, with 828 financing.

“Maddie is an exceptional talent, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring her on board. She will bring so much to the production,” says Brown, who launched Clear Horizon in 2018.

Ziegler’s onscreen breakout came as a performer in Sia’s music video “Chandelier.” She made her feature acting debut in The Book of Henry and will next be seen in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.

She is repped by WME, Rothman/Andres Entertainment and McKuin Frankel.
