Madison Nicole Ziegler, artistically known as “Maddie Ziegler” was born on September 30th, 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From a young age, Maddie  showed a love for performing. At the tender age of two, her mother enrolled her in dance classes at the Abby Lee Dance Company. From there, Maddie’s love of dance continued to grow and she found her passion.

In 2011, Maddie along with her sister Mackenzie and mother Melissa could be seen as three of the stars on the hit reality television show Dance Moms. Dance Moms followed the lives of seven young dancers as they competed competitive dance all over the United States.

It’s from there Maddie auditioned and booked a guest appearance on the LifeTime show Drop Dead Diva as Young Deb. Since then, Maddie has made various television appearances on Pretty Little LiarsAustin & Ally, and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn.

Life truly changed for Maddie when artist Sia contacted her on Twitter and asked her to star in her music video for her new single Chandelier. The video currently has over 1,000,000,000 views. Maddie went on to star in Sia’s videos for “Elastic Heart“, “Big Girls Cry“, “Cheap Thrills“, “The Greatest”, and “Rainbow” (for the animated movie ‘My Little Pony’). In 2015, Maddie booked and shot her first movie titled “The Book of Henry” with stars Lee Pace, Naomi Watts, Sarah Silverman, Jacob Tremblay, and more. She also has an animated film released in 2016 entitled “Ballerina” or “Leap!”, starring Elle Fanning.

Along with television, Maddie has also modeled for companies such as Creations By Cici, OXYjEN Dancewear, Purple Pixies, and even her own line with her sister at Mod Angel. Some of Maddie’s editorial features include Teen Vogue, Elle, Nylon, Dance Track, and more.

In 2016, Maddie and her family left Dance Moms with plans to follow other projects, such as “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation”, being the youngest judge of FOX.

In the same year Maddie presented her first clothing line for girls and young women, with the MaddieStyle brand, and in March of 2017 she released her memoir “The Maddie Diaries”.

In the fall of 2017 Aladdin Books launched a trilogy of Young Adult novels about competitive dance, penned by Ziegler, with the first book in the series hitting bookstores. And in early 2017, she took home a People’s Choice Award, where she won the DailyMail.com Seriously Popular Award and is Teen Choice Award’s Choice Dancer.

In August of 2017 begins with the filming of his second film, entitled “Sister”, and directed by the Australian singer Sia, with premiere in 2018.

When she’s not dancing or acting, Maddie is a normal teenager. She loves to hang out with friends, play outside, and spend time with her family.
